About 80 var­iants of the tale that is most fam­ili­ar to us as "East of the Sun and West of the Moon" have been col­lect­ed in Nor­way. This vol­ume pre­sents five of them – two of which may be fam­iliar; three which will certainly not be – all fresh­ly trans­lated into Eng­lish.

• The Bear King Videvall
