Wading In The Sands

Aarav Samir wants to leave the past of fire and loss behind, but he's afraid that will mean leaving the ghosts of his family behind as well. His life now feels monotonous; going to work at a record shop, playing sitar to his pets, and hanging out with his two friends. All is bittersweet on his little private beach, until one day everything changes.
A newcomer to the west coast, Haru Sadou, shows up at the record shop and Aarav is instantly smitten. He can't help but to think Haru might be the key to leaving the cage of painful bereavement.
Haru wants the freedom to learn and live at his own pace, but he's torn. He longs for the freedom to be himself, but he knows his parents would never let him see his little sister again if he left. Adopted as a child, Haru misses the days his birth family would kiss his cuts and listen to his tales of backyard adventures.
When he meets Aarav he is taken aback by the relaxed lifestyle he has, and he wants in now. Haru wants to find solace in Aarav's arms and leave the rest behind, but that suffering means he can see his little sister growing up and he can't bear to be without her.
Messaging online turns into texts and phone calls and soon enough Haru is invited to a party. He and Aarav have a perfect time together, but Haru gets a little too bold for his father's liking. The constant desire by his son to be treated with kindness is too much for Haru's father to deal with so now he has to go back to New Hampshire for three years to finish a college degree he doesn't care about, unless…
