South Australian artist Lucie Davison works in a range of media: acrylic, watercolour, pencil, pen and, the subject of this book, analog collage.
Analog collage is the assembly of found images, cut and pasted to form new, and often surprising, pictures. It is an art form with a long pedigree.
Lucie's collage is informed by her previous practice in other media and, therefore, includes the usual elements of the traditional artist's craft: colour, tone and composition. To these she adds humour, to create colourful worlds of fantasy and fancy.
Because Lucie believes that collage is an art form for anyone, she likes to share her practice. Therefore, this book not only contains samples of her finished work, but also includes a pictorial, step-by-step demonstration of her technique, as well as a brief history of analog collage.
