Every Smashwords sale is built on top of the coupon system, and whenever there\u2019s a sale coming up, we make it a cinch for you to enroll your books and apply discounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A couple weeks before any Smashwords sale begins, we\u2019ll let you know that enrollment is open so you can add your books to the sale. Please note that once you enroll your books in a Smashwords sale and select your discounts, you\u2019re done. There is nothing else you need to do. The enrollment form automatically applies discount codes to all your enrolled books by using the Smashwords coupon system. You do not need to create coupons for books you\u2019ve enrolled in any Smashwords sale. We\u2019ve done that for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smashwords coupons aren\u2019t just limited to Smashwords sales. In fact, you can use them whenever you want. The coupon system is highly customizable, so you can set up a variety of promotions and even run multiple coupons at the same time. The different varieties of Smashwords coupons include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Public: Set a public coupon if you want every visitor to the Smashwords store to know your book is on sale. Public coupons have the additional benefit of being included in the Smashwords Special Deals section for added visibility. If your on-sale book performs well, it may even be featured on the Smashwords home page. We call it self-serve merchandising!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Private: When you set your coupon to private, you decide who gets to receive your book at a discount via shareable link. For example, you can create a private coupon code, set your discount to 100% off, and send the code to book reviewers or to your street team as a thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Limited redemption: You can choose to limit the number of coupon redemptions, or set it to \u201cunlimited.\u201d By limiting the number of redemptions and the amount of time your coupon lasts, you can create some really fun, time-sensitive promotions to create a sense of urgency for your readers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can access Smashwords coupons by logging into your D2D account, navigating to your Account page, clicking the Smashwords Dashboard link, and then clicking Coupons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When to Use the Promotional Price Scheduling Tool<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The promotional price scheduling tool is best used outside of annual Smashwords sales. Use it whenever you want to place one or more of your books on sale at every retail destination reached by D2D, including the Smashwords store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you use the price scheduling tool, your book\u2019s price will automatically change on the day of your choosing and change back to its original price when your promotional price period ends. You\u2019ll find the promotional price scheduling tool from the green Promotion tab on any of your books\u2019 View Book page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pro tip: Never use Smashwords coupons and the promotional price scheduling tool at the same time. Smashwords sales use the coupon system to provide Smashwords-exclusive sale pricing. If you use the promotional price scheduling tool during a Smashwords sale, and you've enrolled your books in the Smashwords sale, these two promotion types will stack and result in a double discount at Smashwords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smashwords coupons and the promotional price scheduling tool make it easy to create exciting discounts for your readers.
