Since then, every Smashwords sale has gotten bigger and better. Let\u2019s break records with the 8th Annual Smashwords End of Year Sale, running <strong>December 12th \u2013 January 1st<\/strong>, and make this the world\u2019s largest indie ebook sale ever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Enroll Your Books<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure you\u2019re logged in to your D2D account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Look for the enrollment message on your My Books dashboard (you can\u2019t miss it)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the \u201cChoose A Discount\u201d button to get started<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pricing control<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You now have two discounting options when it comes to enrolling your books in Smashwords super sales: One-Click Sale Pricing or Advanced Sale Pricing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The One-Click Sale Pricing option is a simple way to choose a single discount level and have it applied to all your books distributed to Smashwords. You can choose discounts of <strong>25%, 50%, 75%, or even 100% off (free).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Advanced Sale Pricing option allows you to discount book-by-book. This option is useful for authors who may want to provide a deep discount on a series starter, and less discount applied to follow-on titles or to a box set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To be more successful: Promote, Discount, and Collaborate!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Promote to your readers<\/strong> \u2014Celebrate the sale and promote it to your readers by using hashtags #EOYSale24 and #Smashwords in your social media. <a href=\"https:\/\/draft2digital.com\/smashwords-sale\/\"><strong>We\u2019ve provided resources on the Sale Page<\/strong><\/a> for you to download including attractive banners, buttons, badges, and swipe copy to use on social media, your website, and within your author newsletter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Discount your series starters - <\/strong>Readers love series! If you write series, consider a deep discount or even a free series starter to motivate readers to give your series a try.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Collaborate with your fellow authors \u2013 <\/strong>Work with your author friends to promote each other. A brief suggestion on social media and\/or your author newsletter saying something like, \u201cIf you enjoy my books, check out books by [Awesome Author] on sale now in the Smashwords End of Year Sale!\u201d Your readers will appreciate your suggestion because they trust you, your author friends will love you even more, and the season\u2019s merriness will spread!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use direct hyperlinks<\/strong> - If you\u2019re promoting a specific participating title, provide readers a hyperlink pointing directly to its book page at Smashwords. If you\u2019re promoting a specific author, link to the author page. Same logic if you\u2019re promoting a publisher representing many authors. If you\u2019re promoting the sale in general, the direct hyperlink to the sale page is <a href=\"http:\/\/smashwords.com\/shelves\/promos\">smashwords.com\/shelves\/promos<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keep in Mind<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The deadline to join the sale is <strong>December 10th at 5 p.m. Central<\/strong>. It\u2019s a good idea to enroll early because you can change the level of discounting or switch from One-Click Sale Pricing to the Advanced Sale Pricing option prior to the deadline. Once the enrollment deadline hits, books can no longer be added or removed from the sale.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The discounts at Smashwords are applied via coupon codes, and <strong>only<\/strong> apply to the Smashwords Store. In other words, the discount levels you set for the sale are for the Smashwords store only and will not impact your retail prices at other stores. To date, no retailer to our knowledge has ever price-matched a book in a Smashwords super sale.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you don\u2019t want any of your books priced at free during the sale, note that discounts that drop a book\u2019s price lower than $0.99 will result in that book being priced at free during the sale.
